We had the good fortune of connecting with Shameka (Meka) McBoat and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shameka (Meka), do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
One piece of advice that I disagree with is the idea that you have to do something one way because that’s the way it has always been done. My clients sometimes believe they must follow a traditional approach when planning their event so I bring the question or idea back to them, “What makes YOU most happy?” or “What is YOUR preference?” I love encouraging my clients to think out of the box. Clients are excited and open to the idea that they can make their day, event or photography session special and uniquely their own.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The most important factor leading to my success and the success of McBoat Photography is our expertise. We photograph all over the world and specialize in high-end Wedding, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, Corporate, Portrait, and Event Photography. We can meet any photography need with our fully-equipped studio, and our covered portable studio that can be transported on-site to our client’s locations.

My clients tell me that I am very personable, that they enjoy their “McBoat Photography Experience”, and that they love their photos. My expertise is in listening to what clients want and making it happen, no matter how unconventional the request is. When clients pay for luxury, they expect not only stunning images, but a truly unique and seamless photography experience, and that is what we give them.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
