Meet Zermene Guin | Co-owner of Ooh La La Med Spa

We had the good fortune of connecting with Zermene Guin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zermene, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Other than deciding to work for myself, the most important decision I made was to invest in building strong relationships and a trusted reputation early on. I realized that people don’t just buy a product or service…. they buy consistency, integrity, and how you make them feel. By choosing to lead with transparency, follow through on promises, and genuinely care about the experience I deliver, I created a foundation for long-term success. Word-of-mouth and referrals became my most powerful growth tool….. and that wouldn’t have happened without that decision.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our business is built on one core principle: personal connection matters. What truly sets us apart from other med spas is that we’re hands-on — from start to finish. Our team personally guides our clients through their journey, from their very first consultation to their follow-up care. We don’t pass them off to a receptionist or assistant. That level of attentiveness builds trust, comfort, and lasting relationships — and it’s something we take great pride in.
We often check in on our clients after their treatments because we genuinely care about their results and how they feel. That personal follow-up may seem small, but it’s one of the things our clients tell us they appreciate the most — and it keeps them coming back.
Getting to where we are today wasn’t easy. Like many small business owners, we’ve faced our share of challenges — from building our reputation in a competitive market to learning how to balance growth while maintaining our standards. But through it all, we’ve stayed grounded in our mission: to offer expert care in a warm, welcoming, and highly personalized environment.
One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is that authenticity and consistency win every time. People can sense when you’re in it for the right reasons — and we genuinely love what we do.
What we want the world to know about our story is that we’re not just running a business — we’re building a community. Our clients feel that when they walk through our doors. We’re proud of the results we deliver, but even more proud of the trust we’ve earned. That’s what keeps us inspired every single day.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit for a week, here’s how I’d show them the absolute best time:
Day 1 – Welcome Dinner at Nolia
We’d kick things off with dinner at Nolia. It’s cute, charming, and the food is so good. The perfect cozy spot to ease into the trip, catch up, and set the tone for a fun week.
Day 2 – Mountain Adventures
We’d head up to Lake Dillon for a morning of paddleboarding (nothing beats that fresh alpine air!). Afterward, we’d hit up the Tiki Bar right by the water for drinks and lakeside chill vibes. Then we’d cruise over to Breckenridge to stroll Main Street and grab dinner—probably somewhere with a view and local brews.
Day 3 – Hike + Homemade Dinner
Time to stretch those legs with a scenic hike—something peaceful but rewarding. After that, we’d head back, shower off the trail dust, and cook a nice homemade dinner together. Maybe even open some wine and sit out under the stars.
Day 4 – Day Trip to Manitou Springs
I’d take them to Manitou Springs, where I got married! It’s such a special little town. We’d spend the day exploring the shops, sipping on natural spring water, and having lunch at a local café. Maybe even pop into the penny arcade for old-school fun.
Day 5 – Chill Day in the City
We’d keep it local with a morning walk around Washington Park—lush, beautiful, and filled with people-watching opportunities. Later, we’d grab dinner at one of my favorite neighborhood spots. Somewhere casual but delicious, maybe with outdoor seating.
Day 6 – Choose Your Adventure
Depending on the vibe, we’d either check out a local spa for some relaxation or hit up a live music spot or art gallery. Denver and the surrounding area have such an eclectic scene—it’s easy to find something cool happening.
Day 7 – Brunch & Goodbyes
We’d wrap up the trip with a big brunch—something indulgent and memorable (hello, mimosas!). Then one last walk or coffee before sending them off with full hearts and lots of memories.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely — no success story happens in a vacuum, and I’m incredibly grateful for the people who have helped shape mine. First, I have to give a huge shoutout to Olga, my business partner. She’s been by my side through every major decision, late night brainstorm, and growing pain. Her drive, creativity, and unwavering belief in what we’re building has been a constant source of strength and inspiration.
I also want to recognize Sheri, our amazing manager. She is the heart of our team — keeping everything running smoothly, handling challenges with grace, and making sure everyone feels supported. Her leadership and loyalty mean the world to us.
Beyond that, I’m grateful for the mentors, clients, and friends who’ve encouraged me along the way. Every piece of advice, every moment of support — it’s all part of the story. I truly believe it takes a village to build something meaningful, and I’m lucky to have such an incredible one.
