I feel like inspiration can come from anywhere at any time, and that’s why it’s so important to engage with the world and stay open to new experiences. I am deeply inspired by the natural world and often think that nothing a human can make or do will ever come close to the magnificence of what earth has already done. Like, I can find a rock and be super jazzed for days. I often stop in the middle of a project to step outside, listen to the birds in my neighborhood, or watch the clouds go by and just try and reset. But that’s just part of it. Read more>>

There is so much creativity in our community right now. I’m inspired by our local Colorado dyers and how unique each of their styles are. I have no idea how they put the colors and patterns together that they do. I’m also inspired by the slow fashion movement, and the idea that you can get high quality natural materials – cotton, wool, bamboo, linen – and make a sweater that might take you 2 years to finish but you will have it for the rest of your life. The constant learning and refining of a skillset are the highest pursuit we can dedicate ourselves to.
