We had the good fortune of connecting with Scott & Monica Bonynge and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Scott & Monica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We both come from a past filled with trauma, abuse and neglect and did a deep dive into healing. As we moved through our own healing we became fully aware of the things that were so important to healing, but didn’t seem to be found with any one healing modality or professional. As we continued to heal and do Shadow work, we opened to the work that we do meaning we saw the gifts that had laid dormant within. Scott and I became aware that we were mediums and as we started to step into all that we are, we clearly saw the path we needed to journey down. It became our passion to be a business that would bring beautiful healing modalities to people that would allow them to heal in many ways, on a deeper level. Our next step was into our education to become certified in the work we do. We have been blessed to be able to bring new, unique twists to our work that evolved intuitively as we continued to grow on a personal spiritual level. All of our healing modalities work beautifully alone or in combination.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a husband and wife team and having many past lives together, we are deeply connected. We chose the name Harmonious Hearts Healing because it best describes the work we do and how we move.

We do feel what sets us apart from others is how we flow in harmony with each other. When we both work on a client, we move in a beautiful harmonious way that some refer to as a harmonious dance between us. What one of us sees but can’t get the proper understanding of such as an image in a chakra, the other usually has the explanation. Scott and I are simply divinely connected which allows us to offer a client more insight, clarity and healing in a session. We believe it is why our biggest session is the 90 minute Shamanic Energy Healing Session with us both. Clients want the two of us together so they can heal on a deeper level and gain more insight and clarity.

What makes us the most proud or excited about our business? We have people come in who are struggling in such a way that our hearts hurt. They tell us each day is difficult and a struggle. They find it hard to even communicate fully what their struggles are because their inner connection is broken, they are depressed, heavy and lacking in joy. After a session with the two of us we watch them walk out of here feeling like their connection is coming back, their mind is more clear, their body feels lighter and less burdened. They feel like the fog has or is lifting. Over time and some more work with us, seeing them become empowered, strong and flowing beautifully in life is beautiful to witness and be a part of!

How did we get here today in our business? With believing in ourselves and the work we do and continually healing, growing and evolving ourselves. Healing never ends. Growing and seeing/learning lessons is a daily occurance in order to be able to thrive and be fully empowered in life and in our work. If we see something that creates a bit of fear in us, we make sure we step into it. In facing our fears and difficult lessons we grow in such a way that our work deepens. Our intuition deepens. Our connection becomes stronger and stronger and we can help people even more. A practitioner who is not constantly doing their own inner work will become stalled at some point. We have committed to never letting us fall into that.

It definitely was not easy getting to where we are. We had setbacks and breakdowns and days where we questioned everything! Then we did our work to see where the lesson was and what we needed to do to move forward. Again it goes back to the inner work we do. We’ve had moments in a complete breakdown but we didn’t live in it. We moved through it and pushed forward, believing in ourselves. Believing in our work.

We learned that we can’t take things personally. Some people come into our business and really don’t want to heal. They aren’t ready. It was and is hard seeing that because we want to help. It’s easy for us to fall into that space of “I have to save them.” But we can’t. That’s been a huge lesson along the way. There were times we felt like failures and we had to really understand that if someone’s identity is their trauma and they aren’t ready to find a new identity, we cannot help them. We no longer take it personally but yes it still hurts our hearts. But we release those heavy emotions and move forward while setting the intention that if that person becomes ready to heal, they find their way back to us.

We really just want people to know that no matter what their trauma/life looks like, there is always hope. Scott and I had so much trauma as children and all the way through our first marriages. The amount of abuse, neglect and pain we lived through was tremendous and we had plenty of times where we thought this is it. This is our life. No! It’s not and it doesn’t have to be. Anyone can heal and change their life completely if they want to. The number one thing we offer aside from our healing modalities is support. When we went through counseling we had to rely on ourselves in between sessions. When a client works with us we are here to support them so if they are struggling in between appointments, they can reach out and we will do all we need to to help them move through that struggle. We offer compassion and validate them every step of the way. Healing is one of the hardest things to do and no one should ever feel alone during the process.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We love showing people around and ensuring they have a wonderful visit. We would definitely start with breakfast at the “Black Bear Diner” for an outstanding breakfast to start the day.
Next would have to be getting out and enjoying some of the beautiful hiking trails by Helen Hunt Falls. They offer outstanding scenery and nature abounds. Wrapping it up with lunch by the Falls would be amazing.
We would have to include a trip to Rocky Mountain Park with a drive to the top to enjoy the shopping at the Visitors Center and take in the mountain views that will take your breath away.
Enjoying the wonderful shops of Estes Park would be a fabulous way to spend a day and lunch by the river that flows through downtown.
We always enjoy taking people 7 Falls at night for the beautiful display of lights and a bit of shopping in the shops there.
Dinner at Saltgrass Steakhouse would be next in line. Their steak dinners and Cheese Cake are on the top of our list.
Of course we’d have to make time for Cheyenne Mountain Zoo which is wonderful with it’s mountainside views. Fat Belly pizza for those pizza lovers to get their fill is a must.
A day at the Royal Gorge and Visitor Center offers breathtaking views and a day of excitement as does a trip up Pikes Peak. There’s so much to see and do here in Colorado!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The book “Conversations with God” by Neale Donald Walsch truly was the very first book we read that opened us up and brought clarity and understanding.
