How did you come up with the idea for your business?

It takes a lot more than an idea to build a business, but there can’t be a business without the idea. So we asked folks who’ve built wonderful businesses to tell us about how they came up with the idea in the first place.

I’d love to say I had a lightbulb moment that inspired me to start a business, but it was just a circuitous, roundabout path of following a feeling that I was onto something. I’m a firm believer that passion is something you cultivate over time, not something you arrive at. I realized in 2019 that I had a massive interest in Graphic Design so I went back to school at the Pratt Institute in New York for a Graphic Design Certificate. Read more>>

We both had a vision of creating a community health system that puts health back in the hands of the community. As someone with fibromyalgia, I (Nina) have always struggled to find the support I wanted in health care. I have met many people who feel the same, as though their providers don’t listen. I developed my interest in leather work when I was a child growing up on a ranch in Southern Colorado. The saddles and tack we used on a daily basis often needed repaired so I started to learn the trade out of necessity. Then in high school, a family friend helped me construct a saddle from start to finish which only increased my passion for leather work. Read more>>
