Through our work we have been constantly amazed at the incredible things people in every neighborhood are working on. What’s even more exciting is that they all have different stories, backgrounds, strengths and weaknesses. That there isn’t a single formula for success means that everyone can take their unique set of strengths and characteristics and turn it into a success story. We recently reached out to some folks we admire and asked them what characteristics they feel are responsible for their success.

Hmm this is a really good questions! I think for us and our success really comes down to just being friendly and having a good vibe about us and our interactions with customers. Asking me photogrpah and capture your moments to me is very personal. So we do all we can to make sure they are comfortable with us can play, joke, and be yourself both just talking to me and on front of my camera. Read more>>

The first thing I did to be able to do what I am currently doing was to think that nothing is impossible, so I set a start date and started a planned action plan, in order to be able to work calmly, without rushing, because the work done badly sometimes costs the double. I try to plan my trips, my jobs so that they flow. Another important factor is to work with love, trusting in your project and capabilities. It is very important to continue improving, you have to see how to differentiate your proposal from what already exists. Read more>>

Ed Fairburn | Artist and Illustrator

The most important factor behind the success of my practice as an artist is the uniqueness of what I create, and the way in which my work portrays both people and place. Virtually all of my work stems from my love of collecting original maps and other paper ephemera – I really enjoy the textures, patterns, history and even smells of aged paper. Maps are particularly interesting because they often tell the story of a specific place. I think my clients appreciate being able to introduce that quality to their collection, campaign or project – and for me, I certainly like exploring the concept of celebrating both people and place, together as one. There are many important factors behind my own success. I think the most important is having a system. You can be positive and motivated and work 12+ hours every single day, but unless you have some sort of system, you aren’t going to be as successful in any business. I think while building my brand, I have learned that there are many important factors that work together to create success. Another important factor being continually learning and gaining knowledge about your industry every day whether it be through other individuals in your industry, networking events, online videos or even books and classes. Britt Kreutzer | Real Estate Fairy Godmother

I am who I am, and I believe my success comes from being authentic. My branding is true to who I am, what I believe in, and how I want to run my business. According to data from SocialMediaToday, 90% of customers mentioned authenticity as an important factor in deciding which brands they like and support. The real estate industry is filled with a ton of information, stereotypes, and expectations. It’s easy for clients to get lost in a sea of messaging. Read more>>

Of course, factors like motivation, dedication, tenacity and passion for what you do are the basic recipes for success, in my opinion. However, despite those variables, I would say the most important factor and secret to my success is genuine care for my clients. Real estate transacting is one of the largest financial decisions people make in their lives. Despite looking at homes as an investment, this process can be very personal and emotional for many. People are not just numbers to me, and I don’t see people as a transaction. Read more>>

Erin Jerome | Salon owner & stylist

I would say that the most important factor behind my success is my passion. I love what I do, & that gives me an advantage. I have the opportunity to really make an impact in my clients’ lives, & that is something that not everyone can say they get the chance to do. I wake up every morning excited to go to work, excited to grow my skills, & excited to create beautiful works of art through the hair. Read more>>

I think the most important factor about the success of Old Soul Era is authenticity and having absolutely no expectations. In an overly saturated industry, it’s easy to get lost in the void. The beginning and end goal was never to be successful simply just to be. My music is my therapy and very much a personal experience. I feel that this in turn with having fun has led to a selective group of followers with like minded outlooks. Being myself, always. Read more>>

Che Frausto | Wildlife Biologist, Illustrator, and Business Owner

I believe the most important factor behind my success with Advance Wildlife Education is my strong passion for wildlife conservation and education. I love what I do and spend every waking moment chasing after my goals. Working as a wildlife biologist in Hawai’i, the extinction capital of the world (more endangered species per square mile than anywhere else on Earth) I saw firsthand the need of public support and awareness to save these species that are on the brink of extinction. I felt I could fill a void and be a bridge between the community and conservation nonprofits by starting Advance Wildlife Education. Read more>>

Satisfaction and feedback! I love to hear when someone finds/found value in the information I shared. For example, one of my connections told me they went to a city I recommended and visited to a few restaurants I recommended (hint: it was in the Southern US with delicious comfort food!) Read more>>
